We have a great special on Stewing Hens this week. These are Pastured Hens. Great for bone broth! They are older chickens so they are "ugly" but they are fantastic for placing in the crock pot and making soup or simply drinking the broth. These are not suitable for roasting in the oven, they will be tough. But 12 hours in the crock pot makes them perfect. We made yummy chicken pot pie this week with a couple of these and had a cup of broth with breakfast.  

 

These are approximately 2-2.5 pounds each and are only $15 per bird. They have been fed organic, soy free feed from New Country Organics and they have been on pasture during the warm months of the year. These are great for healing the gut. Get 'em while they last!
