Farm Update

Hello Farm Friends,

My Dad & Me Family Farm is still here! Our prayers continue for a larger farm that will allow us to grow and produce lots of organic food. The farm has never been in better shape even though the rains make for some temporary struggles in dealing with soggy ground.

It seems that whenever we get ready to leave a house behind we fix everything that never got fixed while we were living there. We were remodelers for 30 years so as the cobblers children go without shoes likewise we tend to put on hold those carpenter projects that are up to us to get done!

David and I have been going through the house room by room and "punching it out". New floor covering, new paint, a little crown moulding and a million other items and we now find the farm in much better shape than we first found it. We have dearly loved this farm and the gardens and pasture are ripe for wonderful organic production. If you have an interest in the farm call or email us and we'll be glad to discuss the details with you.

In the meantime, farm production goes on at this location. We have some wonderful new Peppermint soap made with organic ingredients by Jeff! Jeff has really made himself proud with this one. It is my favorite so far. We have stocked up so come on out and pick up some of the new Peppermint soap.

We have been blessed with a string of heifers this year. We have six heifers in the calf pen which we will be relocating to behind the barn in an effort to control the wet environment. We also have a cow in milk with her heifer calf for sale for $1800.00. This is a really great buy and if we didn't need to cut back a little bit because of space we would just hang on to her and her calf. I wish we had 50 acres now and could keep all of our cows.

With all of the new calves we have finally gotten to the back side of our fall shortage of milk. We have plenty of milk now so if you are needing more for the holidays just email Susan and let her know.

Some of you may have noticed we have a new farm addition. Her name is Leisel. She is a 6 month old German Shepherd and Rudy is teaching her to be a livestock dog. He is also teaching her that he is the boss and not to mess with him when he doesn't feel like being messed with! Kayla is getting too old to give much consideration to Leisel and what Kayla considers to be her hyperactivity. Kayla spends most of her days sleeping now and Leisel will take her place in the work schedule. Kayla will be allowed to spend her days in leisure for as long as she remains alive. She has earned it.

I hope everybody had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The Lord has certainly blessed us all with a bountiful country that can produce it's own food if we are willing to put forth the effort.

We thank the Lord for all of our wonderful farm friends that regularly support the farm. We couldn't be here without you!

Daniel
