Farm Chore Time

Published: Tue, 05/05/15

Hello Farm Friends,

We have had a lot of requests for Farm Chore Time and so we have finally set aside a date. June 6th, which is a Saturday, we will have two Farm Chore Time events. The first will begin at 10am and go to 12 noon. (Sometimes we go a little long, so don't plan on anything too close to that hour.) The second will begin at 3pm and go till 5pm. When signing up, please let us know whether you are interested in the morning session or the evening session.

The farm has gotten so busy in the last couple of years that it is hard for us to find time to do these so if you would like to participate in Farm Chore Time, please sign up as soon as possible! There may not be another one this year. The cost is $25 per person. When signing up, please include a $15 per person deposit with the balance being due on the day of chore time. Feel free to email us to reserve your spot. You are welcome to mail in your deposit or you can simply come by the farm and fill out a chore time order form.

All of us here at the farm have a great time watching our farm friends learn to milk a cow, slop hogs (and of course give them a nice belly scratching), curry the cows, tend to the broilers, make butter, and collect farm fresh eggs. Sometimes the eggs are even still warm!  Sign up soon and bring the whole family out for a fun & educational time at the farm!

My Dad & Me has a few more plants to sell and we have marked these down to buy one, get one free! First come, first serve so come on by. There's still plenty of time to get your gardens in.

David and I will be bagging up cow manure today and tomorrow for anyone that would like to reserve some bags. This is fresh cow manure with planner shavings and it works well if you mix it thoroughly into your soil. Please just email us and we'll set you some aside.

And now for the most important information yet, Tina has a whole new batch of sour strawberry honey sticks on the back porch.  So, for all of you sour strawberry addicts, come get them!

See you soon at the farm,

Daniel, Susan, & Anna
