Hello Farm Friends,
David and I woke up to a brand new heifer calf. Juliet delivered her during the night with no problems and we named the little heifer, Janet. Mother and baby are doing great and our milk is climbing once again. So, if you have been waiting on milk, email Susan and she will set some aside for you. Janet is already running around the
pasture and in the best of health.
Midnight last two baby kitties are in full play mode now. They hang upside down on the edge of the table cloth on the back porch and if you are not careful they will attack your feet when you come to get your milk! One of these two is still for sale ($30) so if you would like to take him, home email us and we'll hold him for you. In the mean time, watch your feet for attacks from the two little dive bombers :) Ellie and her double
cousin, Susie, both love playing with the kitties!
Tina's new laying hen babies are growing up. In fact, in a few short weeks we will see eggs coming in which will be much welcomed! This new flock is absolutely gorgeous. Tina has 17 different breeds and they all display their unique characteristics. We are looking forward to a rainbow of egg colors including: chocolate brown, shades of green and blue, tan and even white. Coming soon to My Dad & Me Family
Farm!!
David has filled the brooders with the last broiler baby chicks for the year. Don't delay in getting your orders in because half of them are already sold and this is the final batch for 2015. These organically-fed, non-GMO, Soy-free Freedom Rangers are the best. If you haven't tried one, get your order in today. Anna has some
great recipes on the website for preparing them.
Our two little pig babies are neither little or babies any more. David and Tina measured them this morning and Leroy is over 250 pounds and his fat wife is pushing over 280! I guess it's not politically correct to say "fat wife" but amongst hogs, that is a compliment :)
Of all the babies here on the farm, these are our two favorite. And they are growing up, too!
See you soon at the farm, Daniel, Susan, & Anna David, Tina, Willie, &
Ellie |
