Hello Farm Friends,

We still have a few broilers for sale for pick up this Saturday, between 4 and 5:30pm. If you haven't gotten your order in, please do that today. Anna deboned some Freedom Rangers for us over the weekend and we enjoyed some delicious, grilled chicken sandwiches!  We also love them roasted in the oven as a whole chicken.....click the picture below for our recipe.

Vine ripe tomatoes are coming in abundantly now. If you haven't had a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich this year, now is the time! The tomatoes are really sweet and juicy. You might want to have one of those big cloth napkins available for drippage :)

Butternut squash are ripening beautifully this year. They are very simple to cook, just cut in half, scoop the seeds out, add a few pats of butter and put them in the oven for about 45 minutes on 350 degrees or until the flesh gets buttery soft. They are a great treat. Anna enjoys slicing some very thin and deep frying them for some of the best french fried butternut around!
The kale is doing great this year with the rains that we have had. Anna has been fixing us kale chips. If you've not tried them, just put the kale in a large bowl and toss in olive oil and your favorite spices. We like garlic and chili powder. Mix this all up real well and place in the oven until they get good and crispy. Kids'll eat these like potato chips without even knowing that they are really good for them! Enjoy!

Thank you farm friends for supporting My Dad & Me Family Farm. We appreciate you very much!

See you soon at the farm,
