Hello Farm Friends,

Susan and Anna have come up with a fantastic Einkorn Pancake Mix. The great thing about it is all you have to do is add milk and they are ready for the black iron skillet! Top them off with a little fresh butter and some maple syrup from My Dad & Me and you've got a meal your kids will be asking to have more of.

Starting today, Susan and Anna will be giving away a package of their Einkorn Pancake Mix to every farm friend. There is no purchase necessary, just come by the farm and tell Susan you are hungry for pancakes and she'll be glad to fix you up! I have been eating these for breakfast with some of our pastured sausage and it makes a great combination. Come get your free Pancake Mix and tell us what the family thinks about healthy flapjacks!

What a glorious day! I dearly love springtime. Yes, I know it is not officially spring yet, but the sun is shining bright and it sure feels like spring.

I never tire of gardening and now is the time to be getting ready. March is the perfect month to sow some Sugar Snap Peas and in just a couple of weeks, potatoes can be planted. My Dad & Me Farm will have some seed potatoes available soon so get your ground prepared. There is nothing better than fresh new potatoes!

Here at the farm, we will be selling some laying hen chicks the first week of May. We only offer these once a year so don't delay to reserve yours!

If you would like to reserve some babies, please email us as to how many you would like. They are $5 each and we will have five different breeds: Delaware, Rhode Island Red, Speckled Sussex, Golden Laced Wyandotte, and Ameraucana (Easter Eggers).

Chicks should be here at the farm ready for pick up next Thursday or Friday. We will also have organic, GMO-free, soy-free chick starter on hand. It is a great satisfaction to raise your own organically-fed, farm-fresh eggs and it is really quite easy to do.  Below are some of the babies from last year:

The June 11 broiler chicken pick up date is filling up fast. These Freedom Rangers are fed only the highest quality organic, GMO-free, soy-free grain and are on the pasture 24/7. We have a few birds left so if you have not gotten your order in yet, please do that today.

I would like to say a sincere "Thank You" to all of our farm friends who follow us here in Georgia and now in Alabama as well. David and Tina are getting things spruced up at the new 62 acre farm. For those of you who have not visited the new farm by way of the internet and would like to follow their progress, you can find them on Facebook by clicking here and see all the new pictures and updates.

Susan and I are having a great time making Alabama trips to lend a hand. David continues to help us here in Georgia by relieving some of the small farm constraints that we face. David is grazing our non-lactating Jersey cows so that we are able to better focus on the cows in milk.

If you need 100% grass-fed, raw Jersey milk you can get it right here at our Georgia Farm. Or if you find yourself near Hokes Bluff, Alabama, stop off and see David, Tina, Willie, and Ellie. Tell them I sent you and receive a free half gallon of milk just for stopping in!

See you soon at the farm,

Daniel Hammond
