Hello Farm Friends,

Our daughter Rebekah, is overdue for the delivery of Caleb Robert Jenkins. The doctor says the baby is in position and ready, but I guess he is just hanging out a little longer. Please keep them in your prayers. It is kind of strange when your babies are having babies. At 55 and 53,  Susan and I don't feel that old yet!

Speaking of babies having babies, we have two of our very own heifers, JoAnn and Liberty, that will be delivering calves very soon. This will provide us with much needed milk. With David and Tina's operation exploding in Alabama along with all of our wonderful Georgia farm friends, it will be a blessing to have these two ladies join the rest of our Jersey milkers.

If you have been following our emails and anticipating joining the rest of our farm friends, now would be a great time. Susan has milk slots available on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Just email us when you would like to come out for your first visit and we'll do our best to accommodate you. Welcome to My Dad & Me Family Farm!

The May 21st and June 11th Freedom Ranger Broiler Chickens are all sold out. Today we will start taking orders for the June 25th processing.

Birds are selling out much earlier this year, so please respond in a timely fashion or we may be sold out. Make sure you mark your calendar with the correct processing date since we are processing chickens twice in June.

If you haven't ordered chicken from us before, it is really quite simple. Just reply to this email and tell us how many you would like to reserve; then drop a deposit check in the mail ($15 per bird). If you are not a farm friend already, you can either stop by the farm or just mail your $35 yearly membership if that is more convenient.

Thank you, faithful farm friends, for making the broiler operation profitable these last 8 years!

Susan and Anna have been grinding fresh Einkorn and making pancake mix by the bucket-fulls. These new Einkorn Pancakes are exceptional and good for you, too. They also work well for people that are gluten intolerant.

Susan has been trying to make sure that all of our farm friends get a free package to enjoy. If you have not gotten your complimentary pancake mix, please stop by the farm.

All you need to do is to add a little My Dad & Me Family Farm milk, heat up your black iron skillet, slather a little butter and you're ready for some mighty fine eatin'. Oh, don't forget the fresh Maple Syrup!  There is no purchase necessary. Just ring the bell and Susan will be glad to fix you up.

Rebekah volunteered to do the taste-testing of this delicious-looking pancake.  Now she's all ready to have the baby!  :)

The greenhouse is exploding with new little plants. So far, we have several varieties of tomatoes & peppers and soon we will be adding squash, cucumber, and okra as well. All of the plants that we do here at My Dad & Me Family Farm will be grown in certified organic soil and be ready for your garden beginning the first week of April.

April 15th is our last frost date here in Powder Springs, Georgia so make sure you do not plant anything outside before then or you run the risk of losing it to a late frost. The plants are doing wonderfully this year. Mark your calendar to get your plants from My Dad & Me Family Farm in April!

Lamb update:  We just found out this morning that our grass-fed producer of lamb feeds some alfalfa pellets to finish the lambs. All sounds good so far. But with further questioning we discovered that he does not source organic alfalfa pellets (which would assure us that they did not contain any GMOs). Since we cannot be confidant that the alfalfa cubes that he is feeding his lambs are 100% GMO-free we are going to stop selling his lamb and look for a guaranteed GMO-free source.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause in sourcing lamb for your families, but we feel it is more important to stay true to rejecting all GMOs here at My Dad & Me Family Farm.

From all of us here at My Dad & Me Family Farm:  Thank You for allowing us to be your farmers!

See you soon at the farm,

Daniel, Susan, & Anna
David, Tina, Willie, & Ellie
