Hello Farm Friends, Many of our devoted farm friends have requested that Susan and Anna teach classes on a variety of topics that make up a "Country Education." This past Wednesday, the girls began with a yogurt making session and that will be repeated this Saturday, July 9th at
11am.
We welcome all that would like to expand their Country Education whether you are a prepper, a fellow farmer, or just enjoy learning to prepare healthy, delicious food. Email Susan and she will sign you up. See you Saturday morning at 11am!
We are presently taking orders for the August 20th pick-up date for broiler chickens. We have a few more birds left. If you would like to reserve some, shoot us an email.
These are the best chickens around. They are fed organic, non-GMO, soy-free feed and raised on pasture. David and Tina do a great job raising these delicious Freedom
Rangers.
Their son,
Willie, is now in charge of the brooders. He takes care of the chicks for the first two weeks of their life supplying them with fresh, organic feed and clean water. Who said 4 year olds can't be productive on the farm!
Gardens are starting to yield their fruit. We have some nice Juliet Grape tomatoes and the Roma tomatoes are beginning to ripen, too. The two slicing varieties: "Beauty" and "Big Beef" are fixing to come in in abundance.
Susan and I picked some sweet potato leaves this morning. To cook them, simply saute them in a pan with some butter. The taste is very similar to spinach.
The refrigerator is full of fresh blackberries! They have been extra sweet this year. You can find them in the egg refrigerator. For those of you who follow our emails but have not had the opportunity to come out and join us, Susan and I would
like to extend an invitation to any and all that would like to come be a part of My Dad & Me Family Farm. Susan tells me we have some extra milk and so if you have been waiting for the chance to move your family towards healthy eating then now is the perfect time.
Thank you, farm friends, for choosing My Dad & Me to be your farmers!
See you soon at the farm,
Daniel, Susan, & Anna David, Tina, Willie, & Ellie |
