Hello Farm Friends,

Wednesday, August 10th at 11:00am  and  Saturday, August 13th at 11:00am, Susan will be doing a "Country Education" class on:  How to Make Pineapple Kraut. Fermented vegetables like sauerkraut are essential to our diet, and yet many of us in America never ingest these vital foods. Come learn how to make this delicious and healthy Pineapple Kraut.

Classes are $10 per person and all are welcome. My Dad & Me Family Farm Platinum and Gold members are invited to attend absolutely free. If you would like to reserve a spot, email Susan with the day that you prefer and she will be glad to get you signed up.

My Dad & Me Family Farm has several hundred peppers planted this year, and with all the rain, they are doing extremely well. The Marconi pepper, which is one of our favorites, is a beautiful, red, sweet pepper that is thick & crunchy and cooks up wonderfully in a stir fry.

We also have some gorgeous Jimmy Nardelos that are long, thin, sweet, red peppers with thin walls. These are quite a treat and we enjoy mixing them with the Marconis for dinner.

This year we are also growing a new pepper called Gaithers Gold. As it's name implies, it is a beautiful golden orange pepper that is tangy and sweet.

We always grow an abundance of Banana Peppers. We have a sweet variety that goes from a light green to a sunny orange and ultimately to bright red. These start coming in very early and have been a mainstay here at the farm for a long time.

Susan tries to provide a nice mix of these four peppers in the egg and cheese fridges. If you have not tried the My Dad & Me peppers, pick some up soon and make a delicious stir fry with some our very favorites!

This Saturday, July 30th is broiler chicken pick up day between 5 and 6 pm. If you have ordered chicken please respond to this email by confirming that you will be here between 5 and 6pm to pick up your birds.

We are now taking orders for the September 10th processing date. If you have never purchased chickens before email Susan and she can give you the scoop on how to get started enjoying the best tasting most healthy chicken anywhere!

David came over yesterday and brought our bull, Jim, back home. Jim went to Alabama for a few months to "grow up." He is now about 10 months old and nearly ready to perform his duties here at our Georgia Farm. Liberty and Angel have been waiting his arrival. Hopefully in approximately 10 months, we will be blessed with Jim's first offspring.

On the Alabama front, David will be picking up Daniel Seedorf's bull, from East West Farm, and we will be using him for the Alabama herd for a few weeks. Daniel has graciously offered to work a shared breeding deal with us here at My Dad & Me Farm. We will be using his bull, Leon, and he will in turn take advantage of our bull, Jim, when he has need.

Both of these fine animals are thoroughbred Jersey bulls that have tested A2/A2 and come from our most distinguished blood lines. Thank you, Daniel Seedorf, for sharing Leon with My Dad & Me Family Farm!

See you soon at the farm,

Daniel, Susan, & Anna
David, Tina, Willie, & Ellie
