Anna's Pictures-2016 in Review

Hello Farm Friends,

   Things crank up in January when we do our organic plant starts.

   Susan and Anna introduced their delicious Pancake Mix this year.

   The garden has been overseeded with rye grass for spring planting. Asparagus bed is starting to show it's first few sprouts mid-March.

   David and Tina raised a flock of 150 laying hens that began laying in the summer.

    Grandson, Joshua helps in the garden. Grandad and Granny getting the spring garden all planted and watered.

   Midnight gave us four precious little farm hands. Pickles and Smudge enjoying a bowl of milk.

   In June we stopped cutting asparagus and allowed it to "fern". Look how beautiful it is!

    Buff Orpington hen doing her job. Jersey cows enjoying their balage and each other. Liberty and Angel are best friends.

   Kale is always a farm favorite. Have you tried kale chips?
 Susan and Anna began cooking classes including making sauerkraut, turning your milk into yogurt, kefir and creamy butter.
       Freedom Ranger broiler chicken served up with mashed potatoes and carrots. Anna does a great job as our personal chef. Sauteed sweet potato greens cook up like fresh spinach. 
   Our new bull, Jim Dandy that we raised from a calf. Born right here at My Dad & Me Family Farm. 
   We had an abundance of figs this year.
    Muscadines hit full production this year. Susan picking a handful of tomatoes to sell on the back porch.

   Daniel pouring up milk and milking one of our Jersey girls. After 5 years in the ground, our pecan trees made their first few nuts. 
 Almonds in Georgia? Yes, here at My Dad & Me Family Farm.
   Butternuts in abundance in 2016. Cinderella pumpkins for pies.
   The last of the okra before the frost.
   One of our new Jersey girls, Elsie joined the farm in 2016.
   Faithful Rudy keeps us informed of all intruders. Cows enjoying the sunshine and pasture.
   Domesticated Persimmons as big as apples and really tasty.
   Susan and Anna introduced their Grain free, Sugar free Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, a big hit with Farm Friends!
   Susan added Rosewood Lip Balm to her list of personal care products along with her Orange Vanilla body butter.
   My Dad & Me Family Farm began offering fresh butter from Wooden Shoe Creamery. 
   Delicious hot dogs from Stony Mountain Ranch. If you haven't tried them stop by the farm and pick some up. They are a real treat!
