Hello Farm Friends,
I hope you enjoy Anna's farm photos!
Daniel picking the first of the zucchini and squash. Don't you just love gardening? Front garden has had a year of rest and is paying a huge dividend this year. The Lord has blessed us with so much good
rain. A few more weeks and we'll have okra available. Four 100' rows. Daniel and Susan checking the tomatoes. Can't wait for that first ripe fruit. Marconi sweet peppers coming soon. Juliet grape tomatoes-yum! Lots of delicious kale. Kale chips anyone? Arugula, Swiss Chard and Kale grown together in one bed. Beautiful zucchini squash bearing abundantly. Zephyr squash, bagged and in the back porch refrigerators. Muscadines beginning to set fruit for the fall. Seedless Concord grapes are loaded this year with all the rain. Grapes are so fun to grow. Muscadines and Blackberries. Blackberries just beginning to ripen. The Blackberry foliage is nearly as pretty as the berries. The Jersey girls coming in for their morning milking. Look at those apple size persimmons! Asian pears in the upper orchard. Morning chores at the barn. Grass hay and abundant shade under the Hackberry tree. Rudy, our loyal farm dog. The arguta grape size kiwis are making nicely this year. "Old orange", resting between chores. Back garden, freshly planted with watermelons, butternut squash and spaghetti squash. Bumper crop of Brown Turkey and Japanese figs. Our Beech tree is making beechnuts this year! They are absolutely delicious, much like a pecan but
smaller. We planted this Beech tree as a sapling 14 years ago and it is bearing nuts for the first time! I guess it is acceptable when flowers cover up "Family Farm". See you soon at the farm,
Daniel, Susan, & Anna David, Tina, Willie, & Ellie
