Hello Farm Friends,
Georgia is always good for a Blackberry Winter. It seems like we have been getting ours a little early this past week. I was already ready for spring with my short sleeves. I had to go back and dig up my winter flannels and long johns to survive.
The cows are starting to hit the spring grass and loving every minute of it. This is when the milk is at it's very peak for those of us that enjoy consuming it by the gallon. What an amazing gift from God. An animal takes in the herbs of the field and produces a delicious whole food that is versatile enough to not only drink straight from
the cow, but then transform into ice cream, butter, sour cream, and a myriad of delicious cheeses. Thank you Lord for your abundant gifts to your people.
Today we have plenty of pastured, soy free, organically fed chicken eggs.
David and Tina, along with Willie and Ellie and Heidi and Laura, are our primary producers of wonderful farm eggs at our 62 acres in Alabama. Susan and I have had the pleasure of going over 2-3 times a week and assisting with various projects as the farm grows.
We are up to 28 registered Jersey cows and we have 5 more calves due in the next 6 weeks! The farm is growing exponentially in Alabama and we thank the Lord for the expansions we have been able to make.
The Alabama and Georgia farms both work very
closely together to support each other and we sure appreciate David and Tina's hard work to expand My Dad & Me Family Farm's presence into Hokes Bluff, Alabama. This also helps keep the Georgia farm thriving with healthy whole food.
Susan has the
refrigerators full of extra milk, pancake mix, brownie mix, grain free chocolate chip cookie dough and Muddy Moose. Stop by the farm today and stock up on some goodies.
