Hello Farm Friends, The collards are finally starting to come in and we have picked lots of bags. We had some the other night and they were delicious.
Our new flock of laying hens are climbing in production and we have plenty of eggs today. David and Tina and Willie and Ellie are doing a great job with getting us eggs in the off season. Susan doesn't always have time to stay on top of making Brownie Mix but we have a fresh batch today for you chocolate lovers! That is, if I don't
eat them all before you get here...! We finally got in some grits. It would be a great time to make some cheese grits. That's my
favorite!
David has had five calves born in the last few weeks which should mean we would have plenty of milk but with the grass going south, the sugars in the forage have diminished and the volume of milk has taken a nose dive. Thankfully, we have been able to meet our regular
scheduled farm friends, but extra has been hard to come by. Stay in touch, we are doing everything we know how to increase milk production. Presently I am feeding some very expensive organic alfalfa hay, trying to boost production. Thanks for your patience! Pistachio is looking forward to seeing you at the
farm! See you soon at the farm,
Daniel, Susan, & Anna David, Tina, Willie, Ellie, Heidi and Laura |
