Hello Farm Friends,
Another cold rainy Saturday! Come out to the farm and warm up with a steaming hot cup of bone broth. We want to share a cup with each of you as an appreciation for your steadfast support of My Dad & Me Family Farm. We are so thankful for each one of you. Warm yourself up on the inside even though the back porch will be cold...
The chickens and the cows are all snuggly and bedded down together for the cold wet winter in our huge barn in Alabama. David and Tina are doing a great job watching over and caring for all the animals. We also have a dozen or so calves and they are appreciating the warmth of the new barn space. Normally, we would not have many eggs this time of year but with the cozy barn egg production has remained
steady. David also raised out another 150 or so pullets that have just started laying. If you need eggs today come on out, we have plenty!
From Anna's kitchen to yours....
This recipe for Cheesy Grits Casserole came from my grandmother and has always been a favorite in our house. It's perfect with breakfast but we love it for dinner too. It can be made ahead (it reheats really well) and is a delicious side to take to your next Christmas party or family gathering! Click on the link to the blog post with the recipe and more pictures.
