Hello Farm Friends,
Susan has the refrigerators and freezers overflowing today. Items available today include: Bacon, Beef Link Sausage, Pork Link Sausage, Fresh Whole Pasture Raised Chickens, Chicken Liver, Grass Fed Steaks and Ground Beef, Peppers, Tomatoes, Apples, Butternut Squash, and of course, Goat Feed for Holly and
Ivy.
We've had two little bull calves born in the last few days. Pictured is Juliet loving on her new calf. This means we should have plenty of milk coming very soon.
It is always a challenge to get the cows bred to come in at just the right time to boost milk production. Presently we have about 25 cows and I have to admit, David and I get pretty personally attached to our 4 legged girls.
Our goal at My Dad & Me Family Farm is to have two cows calving each month throughout the entire year so that we have a steady flow of delicious 100% grass fed milk.
Heidi and Laura are pretty excited about their new kitties. Can you tell which one is which? Laura is on the left and Heidi is on the right but even Susan and I have to look very closely to tell them apart!
David and Tina are raising their own little farm hands.
For those of you who have been waiting for the perfect BLT, we've got you covered! We have plenty of delicious Bacon and the Vine Ripe Tomatoes are beet red and
juicy.
If you've not tried our flavored pecans, they are out of this world! Susan has a whole display of various flavors. If you like savory, the Mesquite smoked are really good. My favorite is the Maple Glazed pecans.
My Dad & Me Family Farm apples are ready. We picked a few bags full yesterday and they are in the refrigerator waiting to be turned into a delicious apple cheddar pie. Stop by today and pick some
up!
Here is a shot from our Alabama Farm, far off in the distance in the center of the picture is the Egg Mobile where our laying hens are roaming free eating the fresh green grass and the insects and then going inside the
Egg Mobile and laying some of the nicest eggs you've ever tasted. David and Tina provide most of the eggs for our Georgia farm since we just keep a few here.
Holly and Ivy are already in position waiting to be fed and of course to have their head scratched!
See you soon at the farm,
Daniel, Susan, & Anna David, Tina, Willie, Ellie, Heidi and Laura |
